Utilization of Applied Video Tracking in Architectural Behavioral Response Systems: A centralized systems approach

This paper will examine recent advances in video tracking technology to deterimine whether a hybrid system is possible to utilize the benefits of both centralized and distributed interactive sensor/response systems. The use of video cameras and video tracking software will be combined to simplify human detection and tracking, and allow for the formation of semantic behavioral response to human presence and movement. The result will be a responsive environment which continually adapts real time to its inhabitants and allows for almost unlimited programmatic configurations. This response develops into a game where the interface and the participants define the rules of the game through their interaction.
